This inaugural partnership between GPHG and Christie's offered visitors a unique opportunity to explore the creativity, excellence, and diversity of contemporary watchmaking. The exhibition showcased timepieces from 57 brands across 15 categories, presenting a comprehensive panorama of the industry's finest creations. Enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike were treated to guided tours on September 29 and 30. These tours provided invaluable insights into the technical challenges and expertise behind these top-tier timepieces, as well as sharing the compelling stories behind each watch.

Carine Maillard, Director of the Foundation of the GPHG, expressed her enthusiasm for the event, highlighting the significance of being the first guest exhibition at Christie's new Asia Pacific headquarters. She emphasized that the location was ideal for showcasing contemporary watchmaking excellence and praised the shared commitment of GPHG and Christie's to promoting the appreciation of fine timepieces. Alexandre Bigler, Senior Vice President and Head of Watches at Christie's Asia Pacific, echoed this sentiment. He underscored the importance of this collaboration in uniting industry leaders, collectors, and enthusiasts to appreciate extraordinary timepieces and foster meaningful dialogue on both the heritage and future of horology.

The GPHG 2024 traveling exhibition will continue its journey, making stops in Ho Chi Minh City, New York, and Geneva before concluding in Bucharest. The world tour culminates in the eagerly anticipated 24th GPHG Awards Ceremony on November 13 in Geneva, where 20 prizes, including the prestigious "Aiguille d'Or" Grand Prix, will be awarded.

This global exhibition tour not only celebrates the pinnacle of watchmaking craftsmanship but also serves as a testament to the GPHG's ongoing mission to promote and celebrate the art of horology. With the support of partners like FGP Swiss & Alps and the involvement of industry stakeholders, the GPHG continues to shine a spotlight on the innovation and artistry that define the world of fine watchmaking.

As the tour progresses, watch enthusiasts around the world eagerly await the opportunity to witness these horological masterpieces firsthand, each stop on the journey further cementing the GPHG's role as a premier showcase for the best in contemporary watchmaking.
