"Gen de Art" Issue 10 Cover: artwork by artist Martial Raysse
The tenth issue of Gen de Art introduces some of the best names of craftsmen working in the fields of winemaking, art, fine dining and travel in Japan and around the world. This unique season invites us on a journey through the vineyards of Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret and Maison Joseph Drouhin in Burgundy, quietly preparing for this year’s harvest, and gives an insight into one of most established sake businesses in Japan, the Hakkaisan Brewery. It shows us the artistic worlds of creators from around the world, including painter Takahiro Hara and ikebana artist Hiroki Ohara. The international names in this issue include American contemporary painter David Stanley Hewett who base in Japan and French New Realist artist Martial Raysse. We also speak to the Vice Chancellor of Britain’s Royal College of Art to find out about the latest trends in contemporary art and design. The issue presents the readers with some of the most current names of Japanese star chefs – Nobuhisa Miyasaka and Keigo Kimura, changing the fine dining scene in the country. As a final surprise, we embark on a virtual trip to the beautiful inn Zaborin located in the picturesque region of Hokkaido, perfect for a holiday getaway.
