Art enthusiasts visiting Hong Kong this March can experience three diverse exhibitions by leading gallery Ora-Ora during Art Basel Hong Kong 2025, showcasing exceptional regional and international talent across the city.

Fernan Botero The Saint (2014), Oil on canvas, 187 x 100 cm
Monumental Sculptures at Hong Kong's Harbourfront
"UPWARD – Huang Yulong" (March 12-20 and 24-31, 2025) will transform the Hong Kong Observation Wheel and AIA Vitality Park with more than 20 giant sculptures measuring over three meters in height. The Chinese artist's monumental works embody optimism and positivity while commenting on street culture in China. Selected sculptures will feature rugby elements, nodding to the Hong Kong Sevens tournament happening concurrently.
Henrietta Tsui-Leung, co-founder and CEO of Ora-Ora, notes: "Huang Yulong brings positivity and an uplifting mood wherever he goes. He breaks down borders, celebrates diversity and revels in inclusion."
Stephen Thorpe's Mountain Explorations
"The Last Word Always Belongs to the Mountain" (March 24 - April 26, 2025) at Ora-Ora's Tai Kwun gallery will feature new works by UK-born, US-based artist Stephen Thorpe. The exhibition explores mountains as symbols of transcendence and higher truths.
Thorpe's paintings examine our fractured relationship with these landscapes through contrasts of tone and texture, featuring far-off mountains framed by intricate rugs and tapestries. His work reflects on how modern lives have become unanchored from nature and tradition, creating a sense of groundlessness.

UPWARD Huang Yulong, coming soon to the Hong Kong Observation Wheel & AIA Vitality Park

Stone and Spirit (2025), Oil on canvas, 122 x 102 cm
