Expanded Gallery Presence
The 2024 edition will feature an impressive lineup of 195 leading galleries from 42 countries and territories, representing a 27% increase from the previous year. With 64 exhibitors operating spaces in France and 53 newcomers, Art Basel Paris offers an unparalleled panorama of the country's dynamic gallery scene and artistic vitality.
Sectors and Highlights
The fair is structured across three main sectors:
Galeries: The main sector will bring together 170 leading Modern, postwar, and contemporary art dealers from around the world. Highlights include:
Spectacular presentations of 20th-century masters like René Magritte, Joan Miró, and Pablo Picasso.
Works celebrating the Surrealist movement's centennial.
Exhibitions focusing on the Italian Arte Povera movement.
Presentations by emerging contemporary artists pushing boundaries in various mediums.
2. Emergence: Dedicated to emerging galleries and artists, this sector will showcase 16 impressive solo booth presentations, with Galeries Lafayette as the Official Partner. The sector will unfold across the striking balconies surrounding the central nave of the Grand Palais, providing a symbolic frame bridging past and present.
3. Premise: This newly introduced sector is dedicated to highly singular projects that may include work created before 1900. Nine galleries will present compelling yet little-known artistic practices, broadening our understanding of the conventional art historical canon.

New Initiatives
Art Basel Paris 2024 introduces two exciting new initiatives:
Oh La La!: Galleries will present rarely exhibited, unusual, and thought-provoking works on the Friday and Saturday of the show week.
2. Art Basel Shop: The second edition of this novel concept store will showcase a selection of custom products celebrating and extending the Art Basel experience.
Public Program
The expanded Public Program, with Miu Miu as the Official Partner, will unfold throughout several storied sites of the French capital. Free and open to all, the program includes:
Exhibitions, installations, and monumental sculptures by artists such as Ghada Amer, Jesse Darling, and Thomas Schütte.
Collaborations with prestigious Parisian cultural institutions like the Musée du Louvre, the Centre des Monuments Nationaux, and the Petit Palais.
A series of talks and debates exploring current artistic trends and issues.
Clément Delépine, Director of Art Basel Paris, emphasized the fair's commitment to the city and its role in fostering exchanges between creative industries. The partnership with Miu Miu, which will stage an ambitious project at the Palais d'Iéna, marks an important milestone in the show's history.
Global Representation and Emerging Talents
Art Basel Paris 2024 continues to be a melting pot of global artistic talent. The fair will feature:
53 first-time exhibitors from diverse locations such as Beirut, Madrid, New York, and Tokyo.
Curated booths exploring rich themes like mythology and folklore.
Presentations engaging with the Grand Palais's storied history.
A strong focus on emerging artists and new voices in the art world.
Collaborative Spirit
The fair also encourages collaboration between galleries, with ten galleries opting to share booths. This concept creates new dialogues between diverse gallery programs and fosters a spirit of cooperation within the art community.
Art Basel Paris 2024 promises to be a landmark event in the global art calendar. By bringing together an unprecedented number of galleries, introducing new sectors and initiatives, and expanding its public program, the fair reaffirms its commitment to artistic excellence and cultural exchange.
