Art Central is back in 2025 with its milestone tenth edition, reaffirming its status as a cornerstone event of Hong Kong Art Week. As one of the most dynamic art fairs in the region, Art Central 2025 presents a remarkable convergence of contemporary artistic expression, experimental installations, and thought-provoking dialogues that push the boundaries of visual art. This year’s event, held from March 26 to 30 at the Central Harbourfront, promises an immersive experience for art collectors, enthusiasts, and the general public alike.

A Global Platform for Artistic Exploration
Since its inception, Art Central has played a crucial role in elevating Hong Kong’s contemporary art scene, serving as a launchpad for emerging talents while spotlighting established masters from around the world. The 2025 edition showcases an impressive lineup of 108 galleries and over 500 artists from more than 40 countries and territories, making it one of the most diverse art fairs to date.
A unique aspect of this year’s fair is the "Legend" initiative, which presents curated works by artists born before 1970. This program bridges historical perspectives with modern artistic approaches, featuring renowned figures such as Ay-O (Japan, Fluxus movement), Eikoh Hosoe (Japan, photography), Emily Kame Kngwarray (Australia, indigenous art), Lee In Seob (South Korea, contemporary painting), Dean-E Mei (Taiwan, mixed media), and May Fung (Hong Kong, video art).

Emerging Artists and Experimental Art
The fair also continues its commitment to emerging talent through "Neo," a sector dedicated to artists in their early careers. Fifteen galleries from Asia, Europe, and the Americas will participate, offering collectors the chance to discover fresh voices in contemporary art. Meanwhile, large-scale commissioned works, such as Nadim Abbas’ "A Brazen Rift (After Branzi)," take center stage, exploring architectural and urban themes through immersive installations.
Yi Tai Sculpture and Installation Projects further enrich the fair with large-scale pieces from international artists, while Cinema Central hosts an extensive Video Art program featuring selections from the prestigious Akeroyd Collection.
Engaging Experiences: Performances, Lectures, and Talks
A new addition to Art Central 2025 is the Lecture-Performance series, "In Search of the Miraculous." This program blends text, imagery, and movement, offering a fresh perspective on the intersection of research and performance art. Visitors can also engage with leading artists, curators, and academics through panel discussions, tours, and interactive workshops.
For tech-savvy visitors, Art Central introduces an AI-powered digital guide in collaboration with Brushstroke AI, allowing attendees to personalize their experience, access detailed information about artworks, and receive real-time recommendations.
